In a world where so much of our food is processed, greasy, and packaged there are still healthy and tasty options to make. With a few ingredients and an open mind, the options are limitless. One of those options is a personal favorite recipe that involves apples and a little bit of love; I call them apple snack bars.

These healthy and tasty snacks are perfect for toddlers and kids. Easy to grab and go, and fitting for little hands, they are a delicious treat the whole family loves. Best of all? You can keep them refrigerated for up to four days and frozen for up to four months making this an easy make-ahead snack for kids!

How to customize your apple snack bars

You can also customize these snack bars with any fruit you have on hand. Our favorites are with apples but I have tried them with;

  • strawberries
  • raspberries
  • pears
  • peaches
  • blackberries

All of them are delicious options so feel free to play with what you have on hand or what your kids love. Another activity that can be added to family time is to go out and pick the fruit before making them whether that be blackberries from your backyard or blueberries from your local fields.

How to store these toddler snack bars

I like to keep our snack bars refrigerated for up to four days. You can also wrap them in plastic wrap and store them in the freezer for up to four months. Once you are ready to serve them you can just take them from the freezer to the toaster or the oven for a few minutes.
